Africa is home to some of the world’s most diverse animal species. The continent, which is often touted as the “cradle of mankind,” boasts some of our planet’s most unique and exotic wildlife. Unfortunately, some of the amazing animals on the continent are on the brink of extinction. The potent combination of intense poaching and human encroachment through urbanization and farming is mostly to blame.

Concerted efforts are being made by various international organizations to reverse the threat of extinction and draw global attention to the plight of Africa’s critically endangered species.

Face2Face Africa has compiled a list of 10 animal species on the International Union for Conservation of Natures (IUCN) list of endangered species.
