Despite coming in at number 8 in Africa, Mali also comes in at world’s number 2 for broadband internet charges that peak at $163.44 dollars a month. On average, a person spends $10.27 dollars on every GB of data bought, slightly lower than that of South Africa. The country has on several occasions made it into the news after government attempts to restrict social media and ban the internet during the elections.
