Mali

In Mali, 52 per cent of girls is married before they are 18 years old.  It is one of the African countries that has seen a decrease in child marriage in over 30 years. However, it still exists and is driven by factors such as lack of education, poverty, and polygamy.  The age of consent in Mali is 16 for girls and 18 for boys.
