18 tons of tilapia fish were destroyed by the Fisheries Commission of Ghana in Asutsuare, in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.

The fish came from a farm in Fujian, a Chinese-owned fish farming company as reported by Citi News Room.

It is speculated that the fishes are genetically modified but what is alarming is that they were killed off in the first place.  There isn’t a clear reason why the mass killing was initiated.

The situation described above is just one of the occurrences throughout the continent that are severely affecting the quality of life for people all over Africa.
