Xima

Xima is a stable in Mozambique and it is pronounced ‘shima’. It is a porridgelike meal made with corn flour that is well-known across the continent.

It appears white with a mild flavour and it is usually paired with vegetable stews and or meaty meals. It tends to have a thick texture that is great for scooping up any sauce by hand.
