African footballers in the diaspora often engage in developmental initiatives in their home countries as a way of giving back to society.

This could range from improving the health care system, education and social infrastructure to better the lives of people in their respective countries.

On a whole, these acts do not only lessen the pressure on African governments but they also go a long way to portray the love they have for their countries.
