Sadat Ibrahim
Sadat Ibrahim fled Ghana to the United States in 2016 after he was attacked by an anti-gay group.
According to GhanaWeb, he was ambushed and assaulted when he was just about escaping after a colleague warned him of the impending danger.
“They stabbed me and gave me a cut on my back and hand. I received treatment at the hospital. I couldn’t walk for one week,” he said.
“The group posted the incident on the [sic] social media with a picture of me. They said that I was gay and asked people to arrest me whenever they saw me,” he reportedly said.
Now in the United States seeking asylum, Sadat, who has been in detention since his arrival has been battling the ICE to prevent his deportation back to Ghana as he fears for his life.
“I fear I am going to die,” he reportedly said when he was asked what would happen if he was deported,” according to Them.us. “I will be killed.”
