An immigrant is a person who relocates permanently to a foreign country. Therefore, immigrants from Africa would be those who are born in Africa but immigrate to other countries. And while the flow of migrants away from Africa is by no means a recent phenomenon, there has been a substantial increase in migration over the years. Here, Face2Face Africa looks at the top 7 destinations around the world where the most African immigrants reside today.

(Note: The following figures are estimates from census figures in each country. They do not take in to account the number of undocumented and unregistered immigrants in each country — that might very well change the conversation).
