1st Annual African Union Expo To Be Held in Harlem

New York, NY — The first annual African Union Expo will bring together business and political leaders from the public and private sectors to learn about trade and investment opportunities between Africa and the United States on November 17 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The African Union Expo’s goal is to highlight and reinforce the economic, political, and social ties among African Union member countries, Region 6 (the Caribbean),  and the United States.

Organized by African Union Expo LLC and Go Africa Network Inc., the expo is an opportunity for government entities and entrepreneurs to engage in dialogue, network, and build sustainable partnerships.

The expo is also proud to host the InnovateHER competition, a cross-cutting women’s business challenge to unearth innovative products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families.

The competition, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Speakers include Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and Senior Adviser to the national director in the Minority Business Development Agency at the U.S. Department of Commerce Van Freeman.

Government and community partners include the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, the Empire State Development Corporation, the Bronx Borough President’s African Advisory Council, Miss Guinea USA, CUNY and NYC Business Solutions.
