Established in 1901 to celebrate and honor outstanding individuals and organizations for their achievements in academia and peace, the Nobel Prize is certainly one of the most prestigious and respectable awards bestowed on a person or an organization.
Among the over 800 individuals who have been honored till date, prominent Africans have also made the cut.
