Established in 1901 to celebrate and honor outstanding individuals and organizations for their achievements in academia and peace, the Nobel Prize is certainly one of the most prestigious and respectable awards bestowed on a person or an organization.

Among the over 800 individuals who have been honored till date, prominent Africans have also made the cut. Therefore in commemoration of the 2017 Nobel Prize Awards ceremony that was held on Sunday, December 10, Face2Face Africa takes a look at African laureates and the categories in which they were honored.
