After nine years, Dangote is still Africa’s richest man; check who’s in the top 10

Aliko Dangote of Nigeria has been declared as Africa’s richest man for the ninth consecutive year.

The latest world’s billionaires ranking by Forbes puts Dangote’s worth at $10.1 billion. That’s some $2 million less a year ago; $10.3 billion.

According to the American global media company, the continent has 20 billionaires worth a combined $73.4 billion, up from $68.7 billion a year ago.

These billionaires are from eight African countries out of the 54 nations on the continent.

Egypt and South Africa, according to Forbes dominate the top richest people on the continent as well as rank overall with five billionaires each.

Nigeria comes second with four billionaires including the unrivaled Dangote.
