Bow Wow responds to allegations he ghosted child rapper after taking money for feature

Bow Wow took to social media to clear the air after he was accused of taking money from the father of a 10-year-old rapper for a feature and then ghosting them. In a tweet on Wednesday, the 36-year-old rapper denied the allegations and claimed the party who supposedly got in touch with him had been catfished. 

According to TMZ, Bow Wow made the news after it was reported that the child rapper’s father had filed a lawsuit against the 36-year-old alleging he failed to keep to his side of the bargain.

Per the lawsuit which was filed in Georgia, the plaintiff Steven Roberson alleges that he sent the That’s My Name rapper $3,000 via Cash App in 2021 for a feature verse on his daughter’s song. The lawsuit adds that Bow Wow was supposed to send his verse within two weeks after the payment was made as that was the agreed term. The rapper and actor, however, did not do that, the lawsuit states.

But Bow Wow, in a Twitter post, denied taking money from the plaintiff and stated he doesn’t transact business via Cash App. “D [The] pimpin done got yall again huh?” the Let Me Hold You rapper questioned with a laughing emoji. “I dont conduct business on apps. I do NOT use or have cash app. So if you aint call management and send a wire .. you def was NOT dealing w [with] me.”

He added: “Be careful who yall send yalls money to online. This happens everyday to folks. This the 3rd time somebody acting like me catfishing people.”

In February, singer Omarion similarly took to social media to advise his fans after a catfishing victim, who appeared on Dr. Phil show, claimed she was engaged to him, Face2Face Africa reported at the time. It, however, turned out that the person the woman was speaking to was a catfish pretending to be the singer. And besides asking the woman, Simone, to marry him, the catfish also swindled her out of some $4,500.

“Be smart family,” the Ice Box singer shared on Instagram. “So many people have stories saying they spoke with me online. I don’t take advantage of people. I respect and appreciate people who support me.”

Though it appeared Simone was not convinced when Omarion’s manager attempted to clarify certain things to her during an appearance on the show, the reality seemed to hit her when the singer himself addressed the incident in a video message. 

“It’s crazy to how far these people we go to convince and manipulate my fans to think that they are actually speaking with me,” the Bump, Bump, Bump singer said. “From sending fake driver’s licenses and passports and even FaceTiming them claiming that it was a bad connection.”

Omarion also rendered a direct apology to Simone and also let her know they are not romantically involved.
