Authorities in Ghana have arrested a Chinese national who allegedly attacked his Ghanaian co-worker with a knife. In a statement, the Ghana Police Service said the alleged incident happened in the country’s Western Region on Wednesday.
The Chinese national, identified as Xue Hue, allegedly used an offensive weapon to harm his victim, police said. The victim was said to be working as a mason for a construction company. Police said Hue attacked his victim with a knife and inflicted “a cut on his neck.”
“The victim has since been treated and discharged,” police said.
The alleged attack is currently under investigation, and the suspect is in custody. His court date was set for Friday.
As reported by Face2Face Africa, China’s interests in Africa over the last decade have translated into many more Chinese people in African countries now more than ever before. Many of them are business owners who do everything from manufacturing to retailing. However, citizens of dozens of African countries have reported abuse from Chinese nationals as well as culture clashes.
