American R&B superstar Chris Brown and his Nigerian counterpart Wizkid will be performing in Mombasa, Kenya, on Saturday, October 8th. The duo will be headlining the 2016 Mombasa Rocks Music Festival at the Nyali Golf Club. The upcoming Kenyan performance is a sign of the deepening friendship forming between the two artists who have collaborated multiple times since 2013. It also serves as an example of how stars from Africa and America can use music to bridge the cultural divide.
On October 3rd, Brown promoted the #MombasaRocks concert:
According to AllAfrica, the duo will be also sharing the stage with Tanzanian musical star Ali Kiba. Brown’s performance on Saturday will be the first time the Grammy award-winner has rocked a Kenyan stage. Wizkid, on the other hand, has performed in the country several times before.
