The Council of Young African Leaders (CYAL) partners with the Le Club de l’économie et de la Finance Africaine (Le CLEFA) to present the 2014 Cameroon Young African Leadership Forum
New York, NY, May 29, 2014: On July 1-3, 2014, The Council of Young Africans Leaders based in New York & African Economical & Financial Club based in Douala will host the 2014 Cameroon Young African Leadership Forum. Themed: The Emergence of Young Cameroonians’ Engagement in Economic Development, the forum will be one of its kind connecting Diaspora youth with young Africans who are working in the continent. The aim of the forum is to marry social and economic training, providing a platform to challenge and encourage the next generation of African leaders to rise to the occasion in facing the challenges of Africa’s growth and seizing the opportunities available to them in multiple sectors.
Topics to be highlighted at the conference include the role of youth in tackling the challenges of youth unemployment and transitioning from school to career and the transition from academia to the professional world. This part of the program will focus mainly on civic leadership and career development highlighting the Challenges and opportunities in transitioning, the value of internships/Professional Training and building a marketable resume. For aspiring entrepreneurs, day two and three will be focused on training young Cameroonians on essential skills of developing and sustaining a business. Another component of the conference will inform participants on becoming an entrepreneur. The conference concludes with a coaching sessions for business owners and a business competition to select a business that will win seed money and a year of coaching from both Le CLEFA and CYAL.

Our trip to Cameroon is a tremendous opportunity that opens up a platform for dynamic dialogue and sharing of professional skills between young Africans in the Diaspora, and those living in Africa,” said Divine Muragijimana, president of The Council of Young African Leaders.
Speakers and the trainers at the forum include Frédéric Betta, Founder Le CLEFA, Joshua Osih, CEO of CAMPORT; Hervé Djia, Tech entrepreneur with DJoss TV; Berthile Ango, CEO of BA TRADE & Services; Edith Kah Walla, CPP (activist); Jeanne Marie Yalla Koum, CEO of A2D among others.
