Daniel Kaluuya’s net worth revealed

Daniel Kaluuya is a British-Ugandan actor born on February 24, 1989, in London, England. His parents, Damalie and Stephen, are both from Uganda and he was raised by his mother on a council estate in London.

He attended St Aloysius College, London, an all-boys Catholic school. At the age of 9, he started writing plays and went on to take a class at the Anna Scher Theater School and began acting with that company and WAC Arts, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

He first appeared on television in a 2006 play titled “Shoot the Messenger” and went to feature in other plays and movies like “The Whistleblowers” and “Comedy: Shuffle” and also played Posh Kenneth on “Skins.”

However, Kaluuya first gained international prominence after appearing on an episode of the television series “Black Mirror” in 2011. His international profile soared when he was featured in Black Panther. He would also serve as an executive producer on his 2019 film “Queen & Slim.”

His acting prowess has earned many international awards. He got an Academy Award for his role in “Get Out.” He also got a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in “Judas and the Black Messiah.”

“Judas and the Black Messiah” also won him an award at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. BAFTA Awards and Black Film Critics Circle Awards have also given him awards.

Prior to featuring in “Get Out,” Kaluuya almost quit the business altogether.

“I was really disillusioned with acting. I had stopped acting for like a year and a half. I checked out, because I was just like, this isn’t working,” he said, according to hotnewhiphop. “I wasn’t getting roles, because of racism and all this kind of stuff—so you reaching out was like, ‘Okay, I’m not crazy. It’s proper. It’s going to be all right.’”

Kaluuya’s success on the screen has translated into a moderate net worth for the actor. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he has a net worth of $15 million.

Meanwhile, the actor will not be in the Black Panther sequel. 2018’s Black Panther saw Kaluuya portraying W’Kabi, the Wakanda Border Tribe’s head of security and King T’Challa’s best friend and confidant.

Reports say that though the 33-year-old was asked to come back for the sequel, he was unable to do so because he had already committed to appear in Nope – a yet-to-be-released horror film directed by Jordan Peele.

Chadwick Boseman was initially set to reprise his role as King T’Challa and the Black Panther superhero. But production had to be altered following his unfortunate death in 2020. In the wake of his passing, Disney announced that Boseman wasn’t going to be recast with a new actor. Rather, they said the sequel would “explore the world of Wakanda & the rich characters introduced in the first film.”

The movie’s production started in June 2021. But production was later halted to allow Letitia Wright to recover after she sustained injuries during filming in August. Production was also paused in January in the wake of the COVID-19 Omicron wave, Los Angeles Times reported.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released in theaters on November 11.
