Diddy claims waking up with ‘15 roaches’ on his face inspired him to hustle

It’s a common thing for celebrities who did not have it easy coming up to share their “rags to riches” stories as means to inspire their followers as well as people who aspire to also walk in their shoes in the near future.

But Diddy’s recent post on Instagram about a moment in his life that ultimately motivated him to pursue wealth, got people on social media raising their eyebrows – albeit in a light-hearted manner.

In the video to his 18 million followers, the Bad Boy founder is seen feasting on mangoes and simultaneously dropping some words of inspiration while standing next to an infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

Looking straight into the camera, the 51-year-old millionaire says: “You can do it. You can be whoever you want. You could be eating mango, too, with the ocean as your backyard. I ain’t special. I just want it, I want it bad. You feel me? And I won’t allow myself to not have mango. That’s why I hustle hard. You know what I’m saying?”

And though that came off as a usual motivational speech, his caption for the post was what got people talking and asking questions. “One day when I was growing up, I woke up and there was 15 roaches on my face,” he claimed. “At that moment I said hell no, I refuse to live like this. Work hard, believe in your crazy dreams… AND NEVER SETTLE! #LOVE.”

While others flat out said he was lying about the roaches’ story, others also wondered how he was able to count them even though he was sleeping. “Diddy lying…. I had roaches and never do they sit still on your face, roaches got places to be and sh*t to do,” one user tweeted.
