Social distancing has restricted many social butterflies who would normally take to the club on weekends and kept them indoors to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Many celebrities are self-quarantining as well. Well, thanks to DJ D-Nice, the only club you needed to be at over the weekend was #ClubQuarantine and the access pass was your internet.
To while away time, DJ D-Nice’s virtual dance parties on Instagram Live lifted many ‘depressed’ souls who have been self-isolating during this pandemic.
These virtual parties, dubbed #ClubQuarantine, is one musical event that raked in many celebrity attendees and this Saturday’s edition got over 1000,000 viewers at a point enjoying the danceable tunes.
“I can’t believe that I started the Home School social distancing dance party just four days ago and it’s become a place for us to virtually dance together and stay connected,” D-Nice wrote in an Instagram post late last week.
“From my kitchen, I’m able to send positive vibrations to each of you. Thank you for rocking with me.”
The 49-year-old DJ, whose real name is Derrick Jones, came to the limelight from The Bronx music scene in the 1980s.
His nine-hour digital parties which he started last week has seen the likes of Missy Elliot, Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey join the party from their homes.
“Best party of 1 and 100k I ever been to! Thanks @djdnice #ClubQuarantine,” Winfrey tweeted Saturday.
Others who were also keenly following the party that trended worldwide said they saw Michelle Obama, Dwanye Wade and Gabrielle Union-Wade and Rihanna get hooked on DJ D-Nice’s Instagram Live virtual party.
“I never would’ve imagined that the best party I would create and DJ would be from the comfort of my own home,” D-Nice wrote on Instagram in a separate post. “Homeschool is a thing!”
