Donald Trump expresses interest in debating Meghan Markle

Former President Donald Trump has expressed his interest in debating Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. The idea to have a hypothetical banter between the two was pitched by radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview he had with Trump on Wednesday.

Expressing his willingness, Trump said he doesn’t have a problem sitting down with Meghan and Prince Harry for a potentially highly-rated event, encouraging Hewitt to go ahead and make the arrangement.

He enthusiastically stated that he would “love to debate her” and disagreed strongly with their actions, particularly highlighting what he saw as significant disrespect toward the late Queen Elizabeth II, according to the Hill.

The former president was explicit in his disapproval of Meghan and Prince Harry’s actions, stating that he found their comments and behavior inappropriate. He specifically cited his dissatisfaction with how Meghan handled her interactions with Queen Elizabeth II.

Trump also criticized the couple for receiving U.S. security when they moved to California after stepping down as full-time working members of the royal family in 2020.

The relationship between Meghan and Trump had strained following the Duchess’s public commentary about him. The Duchess of Sussex, who is American-born, criticized Trump, describing him as divisive and misogynistic during the 2016 presidential race. Trump in his Wednesday interview described Meghan’s comments about him as nasty. He added that Meghan and Harry had unfavorable opinions of him.

He explained that though there are speculations Meghan and Harry might not like him, he doesn’t know for sure whether they hold unfavorable feelings toward him. He tersely added that there are people who share similar sentiments about him, but, he respects their opinion. He acknowledged that the situation between the couple appeared to be challenging, but he wasn’t certain about their specific feelings.
