Drake files restraining order against ‘stalker’ who allegedly sent death threats to him and his son

Award-winning rapper Drake has filed a temporary restraining order against a longtime stalker who allegedly threatened his life as well as that of his four-year-old son, E! News reported. Per court documents, the Hotline Bling rapper, born Aubrey Drake Graham, asked the court to order Mesha Collins to cease getting in touch with him and also stay 100 yards away from him, his son, his parents as well as his lawyer.

Drake, in the court documents that were filed on March 3, accused Collins of intermittently harassing him since 2017, adding that he has never come into contact with her. “Ms. Collins is a stalker. I have no relationship whatsoever with her,” he stated in the papers.

“She has sent messages saying she wishes me dead, and that I should shoot myself and my son with a bullet,” the 35-year-old added. “As a result of Ms. Collins’ harassment and obsession with me, I have suffered and continue to suffer emotional distress and am concerned for my safety and that of my family.”

The restraining order comes after Collins was arrested in 2019 for trespassing and breaking into the Canadian rapper’s home in Los Angeles. She was found guilty of those crimes. But in August last year, she filed a $4 billion lawsuit against Drake alleging defamation and invasion of privacy.

Collins subsequently sent an email to Drake’s lawyer asking for mediation. She also claimed she was homeless, E! News reported. Drake’s lawyer, however, turned down her request. A judge also rejected Collins’ civil complaint on the grounds that she “has not demonstrated any of [Drake]’s statements were about [her] or that he used her identity, name, or likeness in his Instagram posts or endorsements,” Billboard reported.

In a hearing in February, Collins’ reportedly “conceded that she has been arrested three times for trespassing on [Drake]’s property and another five to six times for assaulting or spitting his fans, or otherwise disturbing the peace surrounding” Drake.

That same month, however, Collins attempted gaining a restraining order against Drake. It was turned down for lack of evidence. And per the latest filing, Drake’s lawyer claimed he sent an email to Collins asking her to rather serve him and not his client. His lawyer also told her not to try and go to Drake’s home to serve him.

“In response to my email, Collins sent me a series of extremely disturbing emails,” the lawyer stated. “threatening not only Mr. Graham, but also his son and myself. In these messages, she expresses her desire that Mr. Graham die and that I get what I ‘deserve.'”

He added, “It is clear that Collins’s behavior and obsession with Graham is escalating, and I am very concerned by the contents of these messages which I believe necessitate the entry of a restraining order against her.”
