Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts lands stake in energy-drink producer ‘A Shoc’

The football season is on break, and as expected, footballers are on vacation, resting and spending time with their families and friends; but not Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who has been very busy with other ventures outside the football season.

Hurts recently signed a multi-year agreement with A SHOC Beverages, an energy drink company supported by Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., Bloomberg reported. The deal gives the 24-year-old an equity stake in the business and promotes the Accelerator brand in advertisements and events; however, Bloomberg did not disclose the financial details of the deal.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have equity in a few places, to be part of the brand,” Hurts said. “Prioritizing the health of athletes and consumers, that’s really important to me.”

In 2019 A SHOC was founded with an investment from Keurig Dr. Pepper, which handles sales and distribution for the label. In 2022, the energy drink company raised $29 million in a funding round to expand production and distribution.

The firm has been reportedly sold in around 125,000 retail locations, including Walmart Inc. and Target Corp., according to Bloomberg.

Hurts has been a hot endorsement name since he emerged in the football league four seasons ago. He has promoted brands like Procter & Gamble Co.’s Gillette razors, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes cereal, and Lemon Perfect lemonade, Bloomberg reported.

Before the offseason, he secured a massive five-year contract extension valued at $255 million. He also got a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Aside from football, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has also explored his other talents, like acting in Teyana Taylor’s commercial titled ‘A Love Letter to Harlem.’ The young athlete helped introduce the U.S. women’s team for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
