Themed ”How to Start, Market and Grow a Successful Small Business,” the workshop aims to encourage entrepreneurship, and equip business owners with the resources and tools they need to either get started or grow their existing businesses.
Sponsored by State Farm, the workshop will consist of an engaging panel discussion with current successful business owners and small business experts, followed by an empowerment seminar presented exclusively by State Farm. Topics of discussion will include: going from idea to launch, exploring financing options, marketing, expanding and resources exclusively available to minorities.
“Africans continue to grow in numbers and influence in the United States, and already contribute significantly towards the economy. Our business workshops will ensure that they have access to all the resources and opportunities available to them so they can continue to grow and succeed,” Said Sandra Appiah, Director of Operations at Face2face Africa.
The distinguished panelists for this edition include Manl-li Lin, the Supervisory Economic Development Specialist at the US Small Business Administration, Jonathan Adewumi, Co-founder and Vice President of the successful Brooklyn based African/Caribbean restaurant Amarachi, Meck Khalfan, CEO and Co-founder of the innovative portable charger Puku, and Gil Walton, veteran State Farm Agent who has helped businesses succeed for decades.
