Sierra Leone – 1963
Television broadcast was announced and officially started in Sierra Leone in 1963, but only reached major parts of the country. Radio was more popular in Sierra Leone for a long time despite the start of the television station. Finally, in 1978, after Sierra Leone managed to introduce colour on TV, the station expanded nationwide coverage and gained more grounds.
