London, April 25, 2012– Following on from a successful maiden event last year, FashionMist is back again on our calendar’s this year for our second season. FashionMist’s aim is to showcase on one platform emerging young designers of African origin who reflect the continent’s creativityand the use of African textiles in their products to infuse it with a modern Western flair. This is in the form of clothes, accessories to name a few. It also seeks to create a network for the designers to interact and inspire all Fashionista’s in attendance.

FashionMist will take place in two parts. During the day there will be an exhibition open to the general public for free from 12 – 5pm. It will feature a more diverse range of products – clothes, accessories, beauty, kids and men’s wear. The exhibition will include designers like Ayikai Couture, Decorus, AfroFusion Designs, Triballery, GBGhanaBoy, Lipavenu, Celebrity Hair, House of Loulee and lots more, including designers from the catwalk show.

This charity is being set up to raise funds and help young women/mothers living harsh lives in rural Ghana/Africa.

There will be a raffle on the night and all proceeds will go towards the ‘Akosua Odei Foundation’.  Prizes for the raffle have being donated by the likes of Beautella and NaanaB.

There will be advance tickets available for purchase for the fashion showcase and can be purchased here. To the designers taking part, they seek to ensure that the inspiration drawn from the African continent has a number of positive outcomes, including the creation of sustainable incomes and fair trade for those involved in production, and the guarantee of quality and authenticity in materials they use. Lastly they all seek to promote African identity and pride, which Fashion Mist seeks to promote.
