First blind Paralympian to win 5 medals, Lex Gillette, releases new book on vision

Lex Gillette developed blindness at the very young age of 8, however, that didn’t deter him from pursuing his dreams and moving on to lead a successful life. In his most recent book, ‘No Need For Sight When You Have A Vision: What Blindness Can Teach Us About Risk Leadership,’ he discusses how he overcame challenges without the aid of his eyesight; moving on to win five Paralympic medals, and eventually becoming a successful entrepreneur.

According to Black News, he attributes his ability to see clearly in a way that is independent of sight to his success in business and athletics.

The 38-year-old has flawlessly demonstrated to the world that having a vision that gives one direction and spurs original thought is critical to releasing one’s inner leader and achiever. He details the actions he’s taken to see beyond the realm of reality, overcome obstacles, and exceed everyone’s expectations, including his own—in his book.

Whatever one’s situation is right now, Gillette’s book will show them how to embrace their individual journey, get rid of pessimism, and make present and future plans with goals that only they can truly see.

Team USA’s Lex Gillette is a well-known track and field competitor at the Paralympics. He specializes in the long jump and has won four world titles, five Paralympic medals, and holds the current record for the discipline. He is the only completely blind athlete in the history of the planet to clear the 22-foot-long jump threshold.

Additionally, Gillette is a renowned motivational speaker who constantly exhorts his audiences to look beyond their immediate surroundings.

Bob Goff, author of New York Times bestseller, Everybody, Always and Dream Big, is among the influential figures who have already praised Gillette’s book.

“Lex is a good friend and wise guide. He has helped me see and access things about myself I never knew were there,” said Goff. He went on to say that the knowledge contained within the book’s pages would aid readers in discovering more about themselves. “By the time you finish this superbly written book, you’ll want to live a more modest, engaged, and hopeful life,” he said.

Commenting on Gillette’s book, President and Chief Executive Officer of WDHB Americas, Sunil Narang, said, “With his humility and simplicity, Lex has beautifully articulated the strength we all have… and in doing so, has imparted a great deal of knowledge on how to unleash one’s own inner potential and achieve even the most difficult life goals by maintaining a clear and focused vision.”

Lex Gillette’s book is available for purchase at all major online book retailer platforms, as well as his official website.
