U.S. President Donald Trump has endured a torrid time since he took over the White House in 2016. Ever since he has highlighted a list of policies that will drive his “Make America Great Again” agenda.
These policies which include the cannabis, social, infrastructure, economic, and immigration policies have generated huge discourse in the U.S. and abroad.
At the forefront of these policies remains his contentious stands on immigration [Immigration policy]. The presidency believes migrants in the US have contributed to the worsening plight of citizens because of their alleged involvement in crime, violence and readiness to do odd jobs.
However, a study by the non-partisan Migration Policy Institute in 2015, revealed that around 820, 000 unauthorized immigrants had criminal records, despite increasing evidence indicating that immigration does not correlate with higher crime rates.
