The Central African nation of Gabon gained independence from France on this day in 1960.

Besides being one of the largest oil producers in Africa, the country also boasts breathtaking landscapes as well as awesomely serene water bodies.

With about 13 national parks and beautiful beaches coupled with more-than-friendly and hospitable locals, visitors are definitely guaranteed a worthwhile stay and experience.

To commemorate Gabon’s independence day, Face2Face Africa shares with you some beautiful photos of the country! Take a look at them and share with us your experiences if you’ve been there before!
