Georgetown To Hold 2nd Annual African Business Conference

Georgetown University will hold its second annual African Business Conference to showcase the growth and impact of the private sector across the African continent and draw attention to the role of governance in accelerating sustainable economic growth on February 4th in Washington, D.C.

The conference, “A Time for Ownership: The Future of Business and Governance in Africa,” is hosted by Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business in conjunction with the Walsh School of Foreign Service’s African Studies program.

More than 300 leaders from business, government, nonprofits, and academia will gather for engaging plenary sessions and breakout panels with experts to discuss and offer insights in to the latest developments of various industries and sectors, including private equity, music, banking, and technology.

The African continent has experienced tremendous economic growth and has become a vibrant destination for investment. This year’s business conference will highlight the successes of Africa’s private sector and explore how good governance in African countries can improve the business environment and investment climate to drive sustainable economic growth and development.

Confirmed session keynotes and panelists include top executives from Proctor & Gamble, Kosmos Energy, Lilium Capital, and the World Bank.
