Grammy nominee Cheri Moon to star in first-ever film to be funded entirely with NFTs

Cheri Moon is set to feature in the first-ever non-fungible token or NFT-funded movie titled “I Live Here Now” directed by Julie Pacino. According to The Women Journal, the NFT movie was fully funded by the Keepers Of The Inn NFT-art project, which has featured more than 3,000 photos taken during rehearsals of the movie.

The movie is about a young actress who becomes disillusioned with Hollywood’s conflicting demands on her body after finding out that she’s pregnant. She runs away to the Madonna Inn and becomes aware that the Inn employees are watching her every move. She starts to feel that the hotel has an even darker interest in her body as it slowly begins to swallow her sanity, according to the Keeper Of The Inn official website.

“I Live Here Now” is the first feature film to be funded entirely with Non-Fungible Tokens, and the first photographic Internet Protocol to result in the creation of a full film.

The movie and art project is part of a pledge by Pacino to support female filmmakers, who still face difficulties in the film industry. Just 12 percent of the 250 top-grossing movies in 2021 were led by female filmmakers, according to The Women Journal. Pacino has since announced a female filmmaker short film competition that will see NFT holders choosing three filmmakers to receive a grant to help fund their films.

Cheri Moon is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and actress who has scored multiple hits on the UK and World Club Charts with her House Anthems including, One More Crazy Summer, Ships in the Night, House Arrest and Ain’t I A Woman, according to her bio. She received a Grammy nomination in 2022 for the contribution of her song “We Are All the Same” to the All One Tribe Album, by 1 Tribe Collective. She is also behind “Ain’t I A Woman”, a woman’s empowerment pop anthem she released recently on International Woman’s Day.
