Danielle Pierce was laid off from her corporate job in 2007. Her next move was to become her own boss. After weighing her options, she decided to become a full-time real estate entrepreneur and delved into many areas of real estate.
She developed a niche in property preservation. This allowed her to find and manage subcontractors to perform repair and maintenance for bank-owned properties. Through property preservation, she was able to accumulate her first $1 million.
Pierce subsequently founded Property Preservation Mastery to help others create a thriving business in the real estate sector. Through her company, she organizes an online course for people who are willing to learn about property preservation and also make money from it.
In 2017, her online course brought in some $21,000 and her sales course skyrocketed to $1 million in 2020. “I’ve had to hone my skills as a builder for a lot of years,” Pierce posted on Facebook. “I’ve done good in that role. But my ability to multiply is out of this world.”
Pierce’s thriving business clearly stands out as one of the success stories in the Black community, particularly among Black women. Traditionally, women struggle to accumulate worth, a fact she is aware of. According to her, many Black women have been conditioned to believe that they must render their service for pennies, a trait she said perpetually relegates them to the background.
Pierce, who grew up as the “fixer” in the family both financially and otherwise, said it wasn’t easy following her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. “Unfortunately, I knew nothing about entrepreneurship, business building, business credit or even networking,” she told Voyage Chicago. “I fumbled for several years before finally getting serious about becoming a real entrepreneur.”
She said a major turning point happened in June 2009 when her income for the entire month was only $348. “I knew then that I had to stop straddling the fence and either commit 100% to entrepreneurship or take my butt back to corporate,” said Pierce, who in 2018 released the book, Women, Wealth & Real Estate: Your Personal Guide to Creating a 6 and 7 Figure Real Estate Career Outside of Sales.
The wealth strategist credits her coach, Thomas K.R. Stovall, for the instrumental role he played in helping her establish a thriving business and helping others to also become successful. She said through his guidance, er online course sales increased over 4,000% in less than three years.
