Oprah Winfrey graced Trevor Noah’s Daily Show in April but bits and pieces of the show have been making the rounds on social media. The media mogul and billionaire took some time off her busy schedule to join Trevor and talk about almost everything from the top of their heads including how she enjoys meeting new faces every day, feels rewarded for the impact she is told she has had on people’s lives and confessing how she misseses her show and interactions with people.
But it was not all laughs and jokes on the show. During the Between the Scenes, Trevor allowed questions from the guest which revealed her plans to open a school in America and work.
Answering the question Oprah said, ‘Yes! I have actually been thinking about where’. She went on to explain that it has taken her a while but the idea of opening the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa was to build a foundation to have more schools and America was definitely one of the places. She went on to confirm again that yes, the only barrier now is actually where to. The school will be very similar to her school in South Africa.
Oprah also touched on the need to normalize mental health and for the world and especially black people either in Africa or the diaspora to understand that black people can and do go through different stages of mental health problems.
In the latest from her own camp, during a question and answer with young girls on reading, working hard and growing up black, the 65-year-old billionaire and media personality revealed how she spent the first million dollars she made. “The first thing I did when I got my first check for a million dollars is I took a picture of it. So there’s a picture of me holding the check for a million dollars. That’s the first thing I did. The thing that I splurged on was really good towels, “I love great towels ‘
