When it comes to eulogizing the role sex plays in his life, Rapper 50 Cent doesn’t shy away from making his thoughts public. In his hit track “In Da Club”, he made mention of this position by suggesting “I’m into havin’ sex, I ain’t into makin’ love”.
But, it appears the rapper has beaten a retreat on this and taken on new interest in the year 2024. In an Instagram post, 50 Cent revealed that he’s practicing abstinence this year.
Promoting his champagne and cognac brands Le Chemin Du Roi and Branson Cognac, he said “My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted I’m practicing abstinence, I have been meditating and focusing on my goals.”
“I hope this New Year helps you excel to the next level.”
In 2023, 50 Cent celebrated the 20th anniversary of his magnum opus “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Reflecting on the 2003 album, which received a Grammy nod for Best Rap Album, the rapper discussed his aspirations two decades ago and shared his thoughts on the concept of one-hit wonders in an interview with The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1, according to Billboard.
“If you had asked me to make a wish in 2003, I would’ve just wished that my music was a hit. I didn’t see 20 years ahead in music like that,” he told Judd. “I’m just that at the moment for it to work.”
He explained that many artists believe they are ready before they actually are, but successful artists have a window of time to improve.
Those with one-hit wonders, according to 50 Cent, often experience success with their first hit but get caught up in the distractions of fame, leading them away from the studio. Without proper training to create the next song, they become stuck with that initial hit.
“Because when that happens, they have that first hit and then it takes them out of the studio to go perform and to go meet all the distractions to come with being a successful artist, and then they land back in the studio without being trained to know how to create the next song. So they are stuck with that one hit,” he explained.
