‘I ended up choking’ – Halle Berry reveals she almost died shooting ‘Die Another Day’

American actress, Halle Berry, has revealed she almost died while shooting a scene for one of the 007 James Bond films – ‘Die Another Day’. The 53-year-old, who was playing the role of Jinx Johnson, made the disclosure on the Tuesday edition of “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.

Berry said the incident gave her a second outlook to filming, praising her co-star, Pierce Brosnan, who performed the Heimlich maneuver to save her life after she began choking on fig fruit.

“I was supposed to be all sexy, trying to seduce him with a fig,” Berry said of her Bond girl character Jinx Johnson. “I ended up choking on it and he had to get up and do the Heimlich,” she said.

Clearly embarrassed at the moment, Berry couldn’t hide her laughter as she continued: “That was so not sexy,” prompting Fallon to maintain that we’d never see James Bond perform such a maneuver in a movie.

“James Bond knows how to Heimlich! He was there for me, he will always be one of my favorite people in the whole world,” Berry said.

This isn’t the first time the Academy Award-winning actress has suffered such mishap. According to Daily Mail, Berry was filming a fighting scene in the movie, The Call when she fell and hit her head on the concrete floor.

She was knocked out and the set closed down for the day. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Perceived as one of the most successful black actresses, the mother of two, is currently preparing for her upcoming role in a film that she also directed titled “Bruised,” in which she plays disgraced MMA fighter Jackie “Justice.”
