Insanity Workout: The Real Review

Summer is right around the corner, and I know you want to look your best. Of all the workout regimens, there’s recently been a lot of talk about Insanity. So what’s the big deal this workout? Is it just another fad that will end up in the closet with the rest of the “best” workout plans? This review will help you decide if the Insanity workout really lives up to all the hype.

I have a tried a number of different exercise and diet plans, and Insanity is by far the best I have seen. Personal trainer, Shaun T is amazing and has developed a plan that is similar to having your very own personal trainer. It is a grueling workout consisting of intense intervals of training and very short periods of rest, but Insanity forces you to push yourself and to increase your stamina. Many call it the “P90X of cardio.” Below is what I think are some of the positives and negatives associated with Insanity:

Positive

  • Works all of your muscle groups: Insanity will work muscles you never new you had, including muscles in your arms, legs and back.
  • No equipment required: Let’s face it, money is tight; and Insanity is great because the most equipment you may need is a mat. And even that is optional.
  • You can do the workout at anytime: One of Insanity’s biggest selling points is that you can do it in the privacy of your home, and work the program into your busy schedule.
  • Burns up 1000 calories: According to Beachbody.com, during each workout you can burn up to 1,000 calories! One 45-60 minute workout can burn about half of your recommended daily caloric intake. Now that’s solid!
  • Saves money: You can find Insanity workout plans for as low as $60 and it is a one-time buy. This beats the cost of a gym membership, which can costs hundreds of dollars a year.
  • Diet Plan: Besides the workout regimen, Insanity also comes with a great diet plan that does not include starving yourself. Someone say saving grace!

Negatives

  • Pain: With Insanity, your body really takes a pounding. That's why it's extremely important that you do all of the stretches, adhere to the workout regimen, and drink lots of water.
  • Repetition: While Insanity does promise results in 60 days, do not expect to go from average to looking like an Adonis in one go. You will see results, however you may need to do the entire workout more than once.

As you can see, the positives of the Insanity workout outweigh the negatives. I highly recommend Insanity for those who would like to get fit, stay healthy and look great for the summer.

*Note: It is important that you consult your physician before exercising if you are suffering form any health condition.
