Wonder why Uganda is regarded as the Pearl of Africa? Award-winning Jamaican-American reggae sensation Tarrus Riley sums it up for you in a very beautiful song complemented with a very colourful and well-crafted video.
Shot across popular tourist spots including the source of the River Nile in the town of Jinja, Riley with his silky smooth voice sings about his love affair with the East African nation chipping in some lyrics in Swahili.
The “She’s royal” crooner visited Uganda sometime in August for the Swangz All Starz concert.
During his performance, he told revellers about his experience in the country and how he was enjoying every bit of it.
“It’s a pleasure to be in Uganda, it’s a dream come true,” he said.
“Now I know what it means when they say Uganda is the Pearl of Africa, I was in Jinja at the source of the Nile River, this is my third time in Africa, I’ve been in Kenya, Zimbabwe,”
“But tonight is special: Uganda is the source of the Nile, I also loved African food, I made a special song for Uganda”. He continued, as reported by Soft Power News.
