Kevin Hart started his career in comedy after performing at an amateur night at a Philadelphia-area club, and has since cemented his name as one of the greatest actors and comedians in Hollywood.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, his films have generated more than $1.3 billion at the global box office. He is also one of the highest-paid entertainers in the world. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the comedian has a net worth of $200 million.
His success in comedy and movies also earned him a gig in event hosting. In 2012, he hosted the MTV Award Show and other high-profile events. Aside from acting, Kevin is also into entrepreneurship; he launched an underwear line with Tommy John, and also launched a comedy streaming service called Laugh Out Loud – which includes a radio show.
He has endorsement deals and partnerships with brands including Samsung, Wrangler, AT&T, and Mountain Dew. In 2019, he launched HartBeat Productions, which has more than 40 employers who manage Hart’s movie, television, comedy, and radio productions.
Today, Hart is adding a new title to his impressive resume; philanthropist. A tequila brand he co-founded with Juan Domingo, Gran Coramino Tequila, has announced a fund to support minority-owned businesses.
The Coramino Fund, established with the support of the national nonprofit Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), seeks to uplift black and Latinx businesses that have long been marginalized.
So far, the Fund has disbursed a total of $500,000 to 50 winners. Each company received $10,000. According to Vegan News, half of the companies are Black-owned, while 36% are Latinx-owned, and the remaining 14% are Black and Latinx-owned. Also, 68 percent are woman-owned.
“[Beckmann] and I always knew we wanted Gran Coramino to have a give-back component that focused on providing Black and Latinx entrepreneurs with resources to pursue their small business dreams. Teaming up with LISC last year to launch The Coramino Fund in the US was the start of that journey,” Hart told Vegan News.
According to Vegan News, the beneficiaries applied from all 50 states and were reviewed by LISC from a wide variety of sectors—including educational services, retail, transportation, and more—during the selection process.
