Listen: Will Smith hops on a remix of Joyner Lucas’ ‘Will’

When Joyner Lucas released the visuals for Will, a single off his debut album ADHD in March, the internet went berserk over his impersonation of his childhood idol, Will Smith.

The video and song, which pays homage to the legendary actor and rapper, shows Joyner paying homage to Smith by impersonating characters he portrayed in some of his famous movies and projects including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Bad Boys, Men in Black, Pursuit of Happyness, Wild Wild West, Alladin, among others.

The buzz surrounding the viral and creative video even got the Fresh Prince himself commending the Massachusetts rapper and giving him a shoutout, saying he was “humbled and honored” and hoped to meet him one day.

Responding to Smith, Lucas shared a post saying he wanted to “take a cold shower and wake up. I’m dreaming right now.”

Even though the two haven’t met as a result of the lockdown restrictions put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus, that hasn’t stopped the legendary rapper from hopping on the remix of the song in his honor.

On Friday, Joyner dropped the remix to the song, with Smith reminding all of us he hasn’t lost his rap skills as he shares some words of wisdom to Joyner while paying homage to some trailblazers.

“I feel like a prince that turned to a king (Ayy)/ Found me a queen, started a family and got me a team/ On top of my dreams, Joyner, I know you inspired by me/ Like I was inspired by Nelson Mandela, I give him a rose for every endeavor/ And shoutout to Julius Erving, one of the legends I worship (Worship)/ Muhammad Ali put the work in, he was the champ, the greatest, he earned it/ I love that you think that I’m perfect but I have plenty mistakes and burdens/ My grandmama thought I was worth it,” Smith smoothly raps.

Listen to the remix below and let us know what you think:
