North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Ye, is set to make her debut at the Hollywood Bowl in an upcoming “Lion King” concert event. At just 10 years old, she joins the cast for the live-to-film concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved animated movie.
The event will feature performances of iconic songs from the original 1994 film, its 2019 remake, and the Broadway musical, according to USA Today.
The star-studded lineup for the “Lion King” concert at the Hollywood Bowl includes notable voices from both the original and remake films, such as Billy Eichner, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, and Jason Weaver.
Joining them are performers Bradley Gibson, Heather Headley, Lebo M, and Jennifer Hudson, accompanied by a full orchestra led by conductor Sarah Hicks, bringing to life Hans Zimmer’s iconic score.
Disney promises a visually stunning show, incorporating elements from the Broadway musical including costumes, set design, and innovative puppetry. The highly anticipated “Lion King” concert is set to take place on May 24 and May 25 at the Hollywood Bowl, with plans to film the event for a Disney+ special release at a later date.
This follows the success of Disney’s previous “Encanto” concert at the same venue, which was later streamed on Disney+ in 2022 and garnered four Emmy nominations.
In March, North West hinted at her upcoming debut album titled “Elementary School Dropout” during an interview with Jazzy’s World TV at the Rolling Loud festival. The album’s title pays homage to her father Ye’s acclaimed album “The College Dropout.”
However, no official release date for the album has been announced yet. In 2023, North West made her voice acting debut in the animated film “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.”
Amidst the buzz surrounding the upcoming “Lion King” concert, Disney is gearing up to expand the franchise with “Mufasa: The Lion King” in December. The film, serving as both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake, features returning stars Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Beyoncé.
Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is also set to join the cast in a voice role, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project.
