South Africans have expressed outrage after a video surfaced online showing a woman forcing her boyfriend’s mistress to eat dog faeces.
38-year-old Elizabeth Williams, who is a nurse from Elsies River, Cape Town, was arrested on Friday and appeared in court the same day after the video of her assaulting Ivodene “Dienkie” van Niekerk, 28, went viral on social media.
Williams would remain in custody until her next appearance in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court later this week, the Daily Voice reported.
In the said video, the Cape Town nurse is seen forcing Dienkie to eat the faeces as punishment for sleeping with her boyfriend.
She is heard telling her: “Vriet, daai is nie my kak nie, dis my hond se kak… Vriet, moenie praat nie. Ek gaan vir jou moer.” (Eat, that is not my faeces, it’s my dog’s… eat, don’t talk. I will hit you), News24 quoted.
Dienkie was forced not to vomit what she had taken, even though she kept on gagging and making noises.
“Jy kan hulle uitkies, sag, hard, pap, enige iets.“, meaning “You can choose, soft, firm, runny, anything,” the nurse who works at Tygerberg Hospital is heard telling her.
Williams subsequently turns the camera on herself and gives what seems to be a stern warning to her boyfriend.
The victim, last week, opened a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, intimidation and crimen injuria.
She told Daily Voice the attack happened on July 26 when she was lured to the house of Williams “under false pretences.”
She said she met Williams’ boyfriend through her previous boyfriend Durran Hendricks.
“Durran went to jail and Jubie would just klop aan (flirt). Two months ago I gave in and had sex with him once but she never caught us,” Niekerk said.
“On Friday, two girls came to my house and said there were people who need their nails and hair done but I must come to them.”
Niekerk said she was beaten by the nurse before being forced to eat a bag of dog poo. She said the nurse also drew her blood to conduct tests and instructed her to drink abortion tablets.
The SA Human Rights Commission has since been investigating the incident.
Authorities at Tybergerg Hospital, where Williams has been working for four years, have also begun an internal investigation to “establish the facts”, the hospital spokesperson Laticia Pienaar told News24.
