African professionals, from Hollywood Actors to industry heavy hitters all converged at TBD lounge in New York City Friday evening for the second edition of the "I am a Professional African" Networking Mixer.
Face2face Africa, a company devoted to restoring Africa's image created this series of mixers with the goal of uniting African professionals and friends of Africa in the Diaspora. The evening was a perfect manifestation of the great things that can happen when individuals, companies and organizations unite for a cause.

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Face2face Africa donated a portion of the proceeds of the event to the African Women's Cancer Awareness Association to help the organization's efforts in educating the African community about Breast Cancer.
The exciting addition to this edition was the "I am a Professional African" (IAAPA) awards, which were given to 3 outstanding leaders who have demonstrated excellence in Professionalism. Face2face Africa presented the awards to Hollywood Actor, Bambadjan Bamba (Professionalism in Acting), CEO and Founder of Rapid Solution, Richard Atuahene (Professionalism in Entrepreneurship), and Founder of Juls Studios (Professionalism in Beauty Services).
Organizations and companies had the opportunity to do short presentations and raise awareness on their goals and initiatives.
Asked about his thoughts on the evening, Actor and Director, Mohamed Dione stated:
" WOW. I had a great time at the Face2Face AFRICA networking event! Got to meet some African professionals with great visions and big dreams and see old friends with new movements. The positive energy in the air was infectiously contagious. It's amazing to have a place to go meet like-minded individuals and plant the seeds that will one day harvest into The Africa that Africa can be."
Face2face Africa would like to thank everyone for attending. A special thank you to our sponsors, Arik Airlines and Rapid Solutions, our media partner, africa.com, and to all our distinguished guests of honor who shared their experience in their various industries.
Stay tuned for details on the third edition coming in January 2012. Nominate someone for the IAAPA award by sending a nomination letter to Sandra Appiah: Sappiah@f2fafrica.com
