Rihanna has renewed her collaboration with sportswear brand Puma. In a two-word press release, the brand’s CEO Arne Freundt posted that “she’s back” above the Fenty and Puma symbols.
The partnership between the two dates back to 2014 when she joined the German brand as creative director. She was tapped to “work with Puma to design and customize classic Puma styles as well as create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio,” a press release at the time said.
During her time with Puma, they collaborated on the award-winning Fenty x Puma Creepers sneakers and also organized a series of shows at the New York Fashion Week, according to Vogue. Her most recent collaboration with Puma was in 2017. When the project went on an unannounced break, Rihanna pursued other projects.
Besides her cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, one of the projects was the launch of Fenty Fashion in partnership with LVMH. The partnership made her the first Black woman to launch a luxury line with the heavyweight fashion conglomerate, Vogue reported. The brand was put on hold in 2021. The singer also launched the lingerie company Savage x Fenty and expanded her makeup brand to include a skincare line called Fenty Skin.
In 2021, the Barbados singer, actress, and lingerie mogul was officially certified as a billionaire by Forbes, after estimating that she is worth $1.7 billion. Rihanna’s status also makes her the richest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the world’s richest female entertainer. Although the entertainer shot to fame through music, Forbes says it is not her music that made her wealthy.
At least $1.4 billion of her wealth comes from the value of Fenty Beauty while the rest of her fortune comes from her stake in Savage x Fenty as well as her earnings from music and acting.
Puma’s CEO Freundt did not give details about the new partnership with Rihanna but on the Puma website, individuals can sign up to receive information about Fenty x Puma releases.
