Salt-N-Pepa’s Sandra Denton becomes latest celeb to sue plastic surgeon for botched butt job

Sandra Denton of Salt-N-Pepa fame is suing a plastic surgeon for negligence after claiming he convinced her to undergo a host of butt surgeries to correct an issue but rather aggravated it.

According to TMZ, Denton, who goes by the stage name Pepa, sought the services of Dr. David Sayah to repair damage to her surgically enhanced butt after she got involved in a car accident in 2018. She alleges Dr. Sayah persuaded her to go under the knife on three separate occasions to fix the issue, but he botched them all.

Per court documents obtained by the news outlet, Denton suffered severe discomfort after the accident she was involved in caused the biopolymer injections she had received in her butt and hips to shift. In her efforts to get some relief from the pain, Denton allegedly went to see Dr. Sayah in 2019 following a referral.

Denton, who said the initial plan was to remove the biopolymer material and butt implants to ease off her pain, alleged Dr. Sayah told her not to do that, but rather talked her into replacing the damaged butt implants with smaller ones.

The award-winning rapper claimed the doctor performed an unsuccessful liposuction, which resulted in her having to undergo corrective surgery, TMZ reported. Before that, however, Denton claimed Dr. Sayah convinced her to undergo another procedure that caused her butt to harden and knot up. She claims she had difficulties performing on stage as a result of that.

Denton said she underwent the third surgery to finally remove the biopolymer material in February 2020, but that procedure was also unsuccessful. Still experiencing pain, Denton claimed she decided to see a different doctor, and after she underwent an MRI, it was revealed there was still a “large amount of biopolymer silicone and dead scar tissue remaining.”

The 54-year-old claims she requires more surgery and is most likely to permanently live with the pain.

In recent times, people including celebrities have resorted to plastic surgery in order to improve their looks. Butt augmentation has turned out as the most popular surgery for women and celebrities seeking the perfect body shape. The procedure involves taking fat from an unwanted part of the body and injecting it into the buttocks.

In 2018, Steve Harvey interviewed popular surgeons Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow from the Botched. They shared harrowing details about the dangers and effects of butt augmentations. According to Dr. Dubrow, the procedure is one of the most dangerous in the world that could cause death if not done well.
