UNESCO CLUB RACINES HERITAGE PARTNERS WITH PHELPS STOKES FOR 2ND ANNUAL BOYS AND GIRLS LEADERSHIP AND MULTICULTURAL PAGEANT
Phelps Stokes to Provide Leadership Development Training for Young Participants
As part of the partnership, Pape Samb, President & CEO of Phelps Stokes and, certified trainer and facilitator, has created a leadership development curriculum for the contestants of Little Malaika to equip them with basic leadership skills and help them navigate through today’s global challenges. The introductory session, which will be held on May 11, will be a leadership pre-evaluation and exercise in building trust with the Little Malaikans, followed by the full curriculum which will be taught during the course of the summer in a 4-module program. Samb will also serve as a Special Judge for the pageant.
“It is our duty as mentors to identify young emerging leaders who have the potential to become leaders and impact their own communities, and then invest in them so that they can become global leaders,” said Pape Samb. This event serves as a springboard for them to express what multicultural exchange really means from a youthful perspective and will give them a platform where they can exhibit their leadership skills.
Little Malaika International is organized by RACINES Heritage Foundation & UNESCO Club in partnership with Autism Community of Africa. Proceeds from the event will help support girls' education and Special Education for children with Autism in Africa.
Linord Moudou, Founder of RACINES Heritage Foundation said, “We are excited about our partnership with Phelps Stokes. “This is the first time we will incorporate a leadership development curriculum as part of our program and we look forward to a long term relationship because it is our mission to develop the next generation of global leaders. “
