When was the last time you saw Shaquille O’Neal with lots of hair on his head? The answer would probably be never or during his early years in the NBA.
A very long time, those of us who have been yearning to catch a glimpse of how far his hairline has receded in recent times have Dwyane Wade to thank.
Shaq, who’ll celebrate his 48th birthday on Friday, showed up for Tuesday night’s pregame show on TNT with his hairline fully visible. Jokingly explaining why he decided to embarrass himself on national television with his new hairstyle, Shaq revealed he lost a bet against his former teammate after wrongly predicting the Milwaukee Bucks-Miami Heat game that was played on Monday.
The former NBA champion predicted the Bucks were going to win the game but his former Heat teammate, Wade, stuck with the team he spent most of his career and won two championships with. He was right; the Heat won the game 105-89.
Having admitted he lost the bet, Shaq revealed he asked Wade if he wanted money as settlement. Wade, however, wanted something else.
“He said, ‘Nah, you gotta let your hairline grow. We wanna see your hairline looking like Kenny Smith,’” Shaq said. “So I just lined it up for y’all so y’all can see where my hairline starts.”
“And I look good and I’m proud to do it, and I’m keeping it all week.”
Take a look at the video below. Thanks Wade!
