Legendary California rapper, actor and entrepreneur, Snoop Dogg, just bagged another prestigious accolade after he was honoured with a star on the highly coveted Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., the 47-year old joins over 2,000 influential personalities to have their names immortalized on the very popular walk.
Attending the star-studded ceremony to support the West Coast rap pioneer included Quincy Jones, Dr Dre, Pharrell, Warren G, T.I. and a host of others.
One of the highlights of the memorable event was when he took to the podium to deliver his acceptance speech. While thanking his family and friends as well as colleagues and stakeholders who played very key roles in shaping up his legacy, he also took time to rightfully and deservedly praise himself for always being himself throughout his career.
“I want to thank me for believing in me,” he said. “I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I want to thank me for having no days off. I want to thank me for never quitting. I want to thank me for always being a giver, and trying to give more than I receive. I want to thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. I want to thank me for just being me at all times.”
