All Lives Matter: 1800s Edition by Anthony McPherson

Just because I own slaves doesn’t mean I am racist. I do not even see colour. You are racist for being slaves. My closest friends are house negroes. Look, I did not ask to have all these cotton. It is not my fault that the cotton is profitable. Don’t blame me for something my grandfather’s grandfather planted-Anthony McPherson.

All Lives Matter is a counter-argument against Black Lives Matter movement. In this satirical poem, the poet gives us insight on the hypothetical relevance of the #AllLivesMatter stance in the 1800s.
