The biggest Afro music festival in Europe returns to Africa this year

Though we’re several months away from the Christmas holiday season, there is absolutely nothing wrong with planning ahead especially if you’re set to spend it on the motherland.

For those who are planning to visit Ghana during Christmas to celebrate the already-started Year of Return marking the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in America, you can add the Afro Nation Ghana 2019 urban music beach festival to your “fun bucket list” to complement the other educative and activity-filled endeavors you may have planned.

Ahead of this summer’s sold-out festival taking place in Portugal’s Algarve region from August 1 to 4, Afro Nation will take the party to the people of Ghana for what promises to be a vibrant celebration of music and culture.

Bringing together the global African community between 27th and 30th December in Accra, the festival follows the recent news that all tickets for this August’s event in Europe – spearheaded by the likes of Femi Kuti, Davido, WizKid, Burna Boy, Busy Signal, Octavian and many more – remarkably sold out in the space of just 36 hours.

Celebrating all things afrobeats, hip-hop, rap, reggae and dancehall, the party on the country’s golden sands will see party goers enjoy celebrations across Ghana’s sun-soaked coastline, surrounded by beach bars and beautiful lagoons. With the edges of Accra proving a renowned surfer’s paradise, the gorgeous landscapes pair idyllic laid-back day vibes with raucous evening parties amid the tropical haven.

With Ghana’s beautiful coastline stretching more than 500km and filled with sandy beaches that hug the Atlantic Ocean topped up with an average daily temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, it comes as no surprise the organizers have chosen the West African nation.

Afro Nation’s African debut is set to cement its place as a unique and trailblazing player within the international festival market.
