The Race Is On To Find Season 7 Winner for TMC International

Top Model of Colour continues to be the number one modelling competition for models of colour in the world and Season 7 is no different. To add to the spice of the competition there are two very exciting additions to the competition, one season 7 has been branded as an international competition with the contestants representing their countries of origin and competing with models from across the world and two, for the first time ever there will be a special award for the top commercial model in the competition, however it must be noted that there will still be one overall winner.

The regional heats attracted models from across the country competing for a coveted place in the grand finale and the 6 judges used across the heats had a very hard time deciding on the finalist.

The TMC regional heats had an elite panel of judges including Ibukun Jegede (supermodel), Adeola Idowu (OK! Nigeria Magazine), Samantha Rockson (editor Your Magazine), Helen Van De Kaa (editor Shiloh Magazine), Cindy Okwera (editor Profyle Magazine) and Sonia Munafo (stylist Fashions Finest). After much deliberation they put through a total of 22 finalist made of runway, commercial and high fashion models.

Founder of Mahogany Model Management, Sola Oyebade said: “we are very excited at adding the exciting international element to the competition and having models from across the world compete in the competition. Based on the modelling industry in the UK currently, there is no doubt that the industry generally has not yet realised, or is not yet willing to accept the need for employing and using more models of colour in their advertising campaigns. Top Model of Colour will continually play a pivotal role in promoting models of colour and to be a catalyst for change in the industry”.

Once again TMC International has attracted the best styling team with Splash Styling heading up the styling team, Mink London doing makeup and Adeline Hair & Beauty doing the hair. The designers and accessory companies we have onboard this year are phenomenal and we believe it will be the best ever final.
