February 08, 2013—-Face of Africa USA is excited to announce that the pageant system is going national in its third year. This will be the first dual African scholarship pageant where both male and female contestants will be competing for the main title. Last year, FOA USA hosted two separated pageant at their state level; Mr. Face of Africa Texas and Miss Face of Africa Texas.
The event was marketed as a community event for business and members of the African community in the area and drew over 750 attendees combined with a diverse audience including college students and professionals.
Face of Africa USA (FOA) is an organization committed to Unity, Education and Integration within African community's across America. The goal of the Face of Africa USA Pageant is to provide a fair environment where young men and women can better themselves. At FOA USA, we encourage our contestant to refine themselves by having self-confidence, pride, and greater social awareness.
All contestants will be competing in five categories Traditional Attire, Swim wear/ Fitness, Talent, Evening Gown/ Suit and Q&A. The candidates will be given a chance to win scholarships, a trip to West Africa, Designer gown & suit, various prizes, along with the chance to hold the first title of Mr. Face of Africa USA and Miss Face of Africa USA 2013.
Auditions will be held in various cities in Texas all thru the month of February. The next audition will be in Chicago, IL February 16, 2013. For those who can’t make it to the audition, please apply online or submit a video application. All candidates are required to pay a $25 registration fee and an entrance fee upon making it to the finalist.
We are searching for young African women and men who are passionate about their culture and want to make a difference in the community. Interested candidates must reside in the USA and be ages 18-28.
