These African countries have great tourist spots but are least visited

Tourism is one of the biggest annual income earners for Africa because of its beautiful and unique sites, friendly population and eclectic culture.

Data collated and provided by the United Nations World Tourism Organization in its Tourism Highlights for 2018 shows that the previous year recorded the highest increase in international tourist arrivals since 2010 with Africa welcoming 63 million tourists (9% increase) and making $37 billion (8% increase) in international tourism receipts.

Though impressive, it is not a hidden fact that some African countries receive more tourists than others because of various reasons including diversity of tourism spots, tourist packages, transportation, as well as political and economic stability.

In as much as all these factors are indispensable, there are, however, some African countries that have absolutely great tourist spots but are being overlooked in preference to the popular ones, albeit they also meet some or all of the criteria stated above.

So just in case you’re looking at visiting the motherland sometime soon and you’re open to exploring other equally beautiful places besides Kenya, South Africa, Zanzibar, Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, Seychelles, Mauritius and the likes, be sure to consider these least visited destinations for a worthwhile, more reserved and not-too-crowdy experience.
